Music Ministry

"Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before Him with thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song." Psalm 95:1-2

 

The music ministry of First Baptist Fort Valley is centered on celebrating and glorifying the God who so wondrously made us. We realize worship is not just something we do; it is the reason we’ve been created and should be a part of who we are every day. We believe our music in worship should be culturally relevant, meeting the needs of every generation. We combine traditional and contemporary styles of music to create a blended atmosphere of worship. Not only do we enjoy the sounds of modern songs, we also celebrate the richness and timeless treasure of wonderful hymns.

The Music Ministries of First Baptist Fort Valley seek to glorify God in Christ, communicating the Gospel in vibrant and creative fashion. The music ministry is as varied as the members of our congregation. Our worship utilizes all forms of worship music, including hymns, modern hymns, modern songs, contemporary songs, and Southern gospel. When you worship with us, the music may be centuries old or written in the last few years.  We try to weave together varying instruments and musical styles so there is something for everyone.

The congregation and the Praise Band (Second Service Band) are accompanied by Mrs.Melaine Hawkins, pianist, and by Mrs. Angelyn Sims-Price, pianist.

Our Children's Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:30.  They perform a Christmas Special each year, plus, they do short perfromances a various times of the year.
